BUYING FAQ'S
General Buying & Bidding
Only businesses acting within the scope of their trade, business, or profession can register and bid. Consumers (individuals not acting in a business context) are excluded.
To register for a John Pye Trade account, buyers must sign up using the following link. You may be required to provide business details and identification as part of the registration process.
There is no specified minimum order quantity or spend. However, buyers are required to submit an offer to purchase goods, and specific conditions may be set by John Pye & Sons depending on the auction or items offered for sale.
Yes, you can bid on multiple lots. If you win multiple lots, you will be responsible for making payment of the total price of each lot, including additonal costs such as buyer’s premiums and delivery.
Typically, you will need to arrange separate deliveries or collections for each location, with associated costs for each lot. We are unable to combine delivery of items from different sites.
Returns, Disputes & Support
There is no right to cancel the contract once the auction for a lot has ended. Goods are sold “as seen,” with no returns unless otherwise explicitly agreed.
Issues should be addressed directly to John Pye & Sons; its decision is final, except in case of manifest error or negligence.
Failure to pay for items won may result in your account being restricted, possible legal action or refusal to accept future bids or offers to purchase that you wish to make.
Once a bid or offer is placed, it is binding, and cancellation is not permitted.
Delivery & Collection
We offer palletised delivery within the UK. At present, we do not offer international delivery, but we can arrange delivery to any location nationally. International delivery arrangements and costs must be handled by the buyer.
Unless otherwise stated, yes, you can arrange your own courier or freight forwarder, but this must be agreed with John Pye & Sons beforehand. Offsite collections must be arranged with John Pye delivery partners.
Timed delivery or collection may be possible by negotiation with John Pye & Sons. Please contact us to discuss your requirements.
Collection or delivery should be arranged promptly within the specified timeframe after winning the lot. Timelines will be set by John Pye & Sons based on the type of goods and circumstances specific to the premises where they are located. From a direct Trade sale, the applicable times will be communicated back directly to yourself. For sales from Auctions, please see the Auction FAQ -https://www.johnpye.co.uk/delivery/
